Why should you use Revolutionary Tours?

Three very good reasons…

Our guides breathe life into history by telling you about the people, the events and the places that were never mentioned in the history books. We take history and put flesh and blood on it.
Today, we enjoy the legacy of our ancestors, yet we know little about them. Join our Historic Churches tour and pay tribute to those who blazed the path for America’s religious liberty.

Historic Churches Tour includes:

  1. Sixty-Minute guided walking tour
  2. Historic Churches Tour Pamphlet
  3. History of Williamsburg Churches
  4. Led by Jan Couperthwaite – Historical Writer & Researcher

Tour begins at Merchant’s Square in front of Bruton Parish Gift Shop (beside William & Mary Bookstore) and finishes at the Powder Magazine on Duke of Gloucester Street. Along the way you learn about the origins of the modern Episcopal Church, the lengths to which Presbyterians would go to practice their faith, the persecution faced by dissenting faiths, and the introduction of the Baptists and Methodists into Williamsburg society.
